This book is Miyako Ishiuchi's third collection of photographs following Apartment (1978) and Yokosuka Story (1979). In Endless Night, the artist returns to her hometown of Yokosuka to record the remains of an abandoned brothel. As ususal, her eye for poignant details amid the ruins of this once-vibrant space brings to mind a reverence for the lives that passed through these walls and the irreversible passage of time.
