Raised by Wolves (BOOTLEG EDITION)
Photographs: Jim Golberg
Publisher: Tweeky
318 pages
Year: 2019
ISBN: 9780997827507
Comments: Softcover, 30,5 x 22,7 cm, black and white and color photographs reworked with Xerox. Second edition of a fac simile "bootleg" edition reworked with photocopy to make it more radical! Two tipped-in photographs and a loosely laid in 'Burritos' flyer laid in. Goldberg has also colored page 37 with gold marker. In very good condition other than a small crease on the lower edge.
Raised by Wolves is often considered Goldberg’s seminal project, because it combines ten years of original photographs and text. Also, other illustrative elements such as home movie stills, snapshots, drawings, diary entries, and images of discarded belongings can be seen in this book. All of this is used to document the lives of runaway teenagers in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The book quickly became a classic in the photobook canon and, thus, the original is essentially unavailable. In the spirit of Tweeky Dave, Goldberg released a xerox style bootleg version of the book with numerous surprises inserted by the artist.
